ABOUT US

Trae and Britney Gaddis are the husband-and-wife team behind Scavenger Woodworks. We started designing and building custom furniture together in 2014, prior to moving to Bend, Oregon. Both originally from Owensboro, Kentucky, Trae’s background is in excavation, while Brittney is a graphic designer with an obsession for interior design and home renovation.

Together, we create unique furniture, perfectly suited to the style of each client – whether that style is rustic, farmhouse, minimalist, industrial, traditional, or eclectic. We pride ourselves on a shared artistic vision and the ability to create pieces that stand out from the crowd.

Some of our clients include: Bend Design CenterGambrinu’s Libation Emporium, Wheatgrass Juice Bar, The Creme Coffee House, Integrity Nursery, and more!

Before Woodworking

Shortly after getting married in 2013, we began toying with pallet wood and other found materials to furnish our own home when times were tough. We had recently sold everything we owned to live a minimalist lifestyle traveling around in our renovated 1982 Ford Honey Bee. (Check out Where’s Harvey the RV to read all about that adventure!)

Since that humble beginning, Trae has branched out to working with barnwood, bourbon barrels, reclaimed wood flooring, fencing, metal roofing, steel, and other materials that he finds interesting and worthy of saving. In addition to creating furniture, he also dabbles in the renovation of vintage camper trailers.

Brittney graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication Design from Northern Kentucky University’s School of Fine Arts in 2012. She now works as a graphic designer, art director, marketing designer, and illustrator.
